Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) is a student organization at Western Washington University that seeks to spread the gospel - the good news of grace in Jesus Christ - through our community to the campus and to the world. Students come to Western to be educated and equipped to shape the next generation of our culture. RUF exists to support and enrich that conversation. Because we believe the gospel of grace is the most powerful tool to bring about personal healing, social reconciliation, and cultural renewal, it is our sincere hope that our presence on campus is life-giving and enriching, whatever your perspective.
RUF is the campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). Though we exist on campus through the PCA, you will find students from a wide variety of backgrounds involved in RUF, because we welcome students from any and all walks of life. We are here for the "convinced" and the "unconvinced."
Our vision may perhaps be best summarized in three words:
RUF seeks to help students become increasingly enthralled with who Jesus Christ is, what he has done for them, and what he is doing in our world.
RUF seeks to be a welcoming and safe community where all students can examine the claims of Christianity and learn to serve and love one another.
RUF at Western is a mission where students are trained to bring God's kingdom values (things like love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness and justice) to bear in all of creation - here in Bellingham, on the Yakima Reservation, in Japan and in their daily studies.
